Coverage area

Volga TGC incorporates power enterprises of Samara, Saratov, Ulyanovsk and Orenburg regions. This territory of the total area of 316 thousand square kilometers, that exceeds the aggregate area of Austria, Belgium, Check Republic, Slovakia and Ireland, has the population of about 9,5 million.

Key automotive and petrochemical complexes are located in this region. The largest consumers are the enterprises of chemical, petrochemical, metallurgical, automotive and building industries.

Samara region

Samara region is one of the leading industrial regions, known for diversity of industries concentrated there. Currently industrial complex of the region is represented by about 400 large and medium-size enterprises and over 4 thousand small ones. The headmost industries are mechanical, metal processing, fuel production, electric power, chemical and petrochemical, non-ferrous metallurgy.

Mechanical industry is represented by the whole range of the major branches with the leading role of the automotive industry. Over 70% of the Russian passenger cars are produced in Samara region. Share of major oil-products, such as motor fuel, diesel fuel, heating oil aggregates to 10-12%.

Samara region is one of the most developed regions in Russia in terms of economical and social development; the country average development level is exceeded in key parameters.

Over 80% of gross regional product is produced by industrial sector; majority of public services are provided by transport industry, communications and retail business.

Volga TGC consolidates the following power enterprises of Samara region:

Total installed capacity of Samara thermal stations: electric power — 3520 MW, thermal power — 16 189 Gcal/hour. Thermal grids length - 503 km.

Saratov region

Saratov region occupies one of the leading places in Volga basin economics in terms of industrial development level. The industry of the region integrates over 2000 large and medium enterprises. The region produces trolleybuses, spark plugs, precision instruments, refrigerators, construction glass, mineral fertilizers, gasoline, petrochemical products, publishes books and school manuals; chemical diesel and furniture industries are highly developed.

Industrial structure of the region is represented by fuel and energy complex (45,5%), engineering (19,1%), chemical and petrochemical (15,6%), food (9,2%) industries.

Volga TGC consolidates the following power enterprises of Saratov region:

Total installed capacity of Saratov thermal stations: electric power— 1479 MW, thermal power — 6054 Gcal/hour (Saratov boiler-houses included). Thermal grids length — 316,5 km.

Ulyanovsk region

Ulyanovsk region is one of the country’s largest automotive (over 30% of buses and about 10% of trucks) and aircraft industries centers.

Industrial complex of the region consists of 450 large and medium enterprises. Major industries: engineering and metal processing (54,1% in the industrial structure; the largest enterprises: Ulyanovsk automotive plant, Dimitrovgrad automotive components plant, UTES, Ulyanovsk Instrument Development Laboratory, Ulyanovsk Machine Plant, Aviastar-JV), food industry (9,7%; Confectionery Volzhanka, Brewery Vitjaz, Meat processing plant Ulyanovsky, Ulyanovsk sugar refinery (Cylna)), Milan), power industry (14,6%).

Ulyanovsk region heads the list of the Russian civil planes producers, it is the fifth largest vehicle manufacturer, firth largest producer of carpets and woolen products, the ninth in cement production.

Volga TGC consolidates the following power enterprises of Ulyanovsk region:

Total installed capacity of Ulyanovsk thermal stations: electric power — 852 MW, thermal energy — 3 440 GCal/hour. Thermal grids length - 152,0 km (double pipe system).

Orenburg region

Orenburg region is a large industrially developed constituent territory of the Russian Federation. Major industries: fuel production, ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy, electric power industry, mechanical and metal processing industry. Industrial complex plays the leading role in the economy of Orenburg region. About 22% of the region’s working population is engaged in it. Major branches of industry are fuel production - 46,8 %, ferrous metallurgy - 12,1 %, mechanical and metal processing industry - 8,4 %, non-ferrous metallurgy - 8,2 %, food industry - 7,7 %.

Volga TGC consolidates the following power enterprises of Orenburg region within its 100% affiliate Orenburg Heat and Power Generation Company (since March 9, 2007):

Total installed capacity of Orenburg thermal stations: electric power — 1029 MW, thermal power — 5 003,9 Gcal/hour (incl. boiler-houses).
